For those of you who are new to hunting and outdoor activities, here is a list of frequently (and not-so-frequently) used words and terms: Early Small Game (For Kids): Squirrel, grouse. Flintlock: Type of gun - muzzle-loader. Same type of gun that the mountain men used to use. Hot Sparks Kit: This can be obtained from an Army/Navy Store. It is a piece of flint with a piece of steel that you hit together to make a spark. Comes in handy if your matches get wet or you forgot your lighter. Hot Spots: Good places to hunt. Small Game: Considered to be pheasant, grouse, turkey, rabbit, dove, woodcock. Trapping: Animals usually trapped: beaver, fox, raccoon, possum, skunk, weasel, muskrat. With permit - bobcat.
