- The first theatre in the United States opened in
Williamsburg, VA in 1716.
- The Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, has twice as many bathrooms as necessary. When it was built in the
1940's, the state of Virginia still had segregation laws requiring separate toilet facilities for blacks and whites.
- The Appalachian Trail starts in northern Georgia and continues through South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee,
Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and ends in Maine at Mt.
Katahdin, Baxter Peak, Baxter State Park.

Ouch!! That Smarts!!
A bank robber in Virginia Beach got a nasty surprise when a dye pack designed to mark stolen money exploded in his Fruit-of-the-Looms. The robber apparently stuffed the loot down the front of his pants as he was running out the door. "He was seen hopping and jumping around with an explosion taking place inside his pants," said police spokesman Mike Carey. Police have the man's charred trousers in custody.
